Quick summary of
discussions
Due to the many
(interesting) presentations, there was not much time for discussions.
Two
items were discussed briefly, however: the quality of the data from Horns
Rev and what happens when a wake hits the ground.
Quality of Horns Rev data
tI
was noted that great care should be taken when analysing the “public data
set”. In particular it should be checked if the correct number of turbines
on/off is used.
Wakes hitting the ground
Risø
reported that some LES simulations performed by CRES (see presentation by O
Rathmann) indicated that the wake starts to rise
when it touches the ground, it was stressed that the shape of the wake
changes at that moment in time.
Jan-Åke
Dahlberg said, and all agreed, that we would kindly like to ask all owners
of wake data from large wind farm to share that data with the community!
Only by testing the models against these data sets will we be able to move
our understanding forward.
