DTU is a technical elite university with international reach. DTU has extensive expertise in the area of wind turbine technology and understanding of the wind. The research covers e.g. impact of loads, structural design and reliability of wind turbines, meteorology, integration of wind power in the energy system, aeroelastic design, and materials characterization. DTU operates two test stations for large wind turbines strategically placed on Jutland’s west coast, where the performance and design of wind turbines up to 250 meters can be tested.
